The children's event starts after the swim ends (around 3.30pm). It will take place on Ascot Green.

Trikeathon / wheelbarrowathon

Younger children can trike and older children (who are too big to trike) can do a wheelbarrowathon with a partner. Triking children will need to bring their trike with them. Wheelbarrow children will be put into partners on the day (if they do not have one already organised). The route will be laid out with cones. Participants can do 1 or 2 laps.

Walk / Run

After the triking, children then move onto the walk / run. This route is 1.5km long and follows the same route as the adult run. Children will need a carer with them. Babies can be pushed in prams or carried.

Certificates

Certificates for all children who participate in the children’s event will be handed out at the dinner. Please let us know in advance if your child will not be there so we can give your child a certificate before you leave QE2.

Registration

Children do not need to fill in a registration form or pay to participate. However, we do need to know in advance if your child will be taking part. Please email us to let us know.
Children are warmly invited to collect sponsorship money for Cat Rescue for their event. Download the sponsorship form from the 2009 page on this website.

Vegetarian credentials for children

For children under 12, the vegetarian requirement is one day.

The children’s event will be a lot of fun so we hope those of you without children will stay around if you can to watch and cheer.
